It was about this time three years ago when Scribble was invited by SE1 United to run a blogging workshop. This was the very first Scribble Nation Workshop, and I’m pleased to say, it was the first of many. After a wealth of invaluable experiences gained, Scribble was welcomed back with open arms, enabling the Writers’ Revelation Revolution to add another chapter to it’s story.
The Culture Collective is a sub-group born from the SE1 United initiative. The legion of 16-21 year olds often come together in the name of art to create, and promote artists in all disciplines as well as voice the issues young people are often faced with including, negative stereotypes, employment issues, study worries and life skills. Recently, The Culture Collective felt moved to spread arts and culture news using a very ‘by the people, for the people’ approach with their blog.
During our workshop, we discussed the advantages of blogging and digital storytelling, the need for new artists to have a platform, and the top ten ways to take over the world...well...two out of the three points of discussion were true.
Working with this group was both exciting and refreshing, and I’m pleased to announce that Scribble will be working with them again.
Note that this was not just a one off workshop, but is soon to be a preset programme which will launch this summer. Scribble Ink will be running an 8 week creative arts programme that will not only look at writing, but will mentor young adults in other creative disciplines, as well as offer employment and academic advice as a part of preparing creatives’ for the new academic year and/or the big wide world.
If you’d like to learn more about the programme or would like to book a place email info@scribbleink.com.
I look forward to being part of such a fantastic programme, and I look forward to seeing you there!
